Krishna will be hosting another L2 training in Ghana, West Africa in February 2020.
When people spend time with Krishna, they marvel at the ways Krishna is able to bring out the best in people. One such beautiful soul is Atma Karam. She is a yoga teacher from Vancouver, Canada. Here she talks about her experience of Kundalini Yoga teacher training in Ghana with Krishna Kaur.
- What inspired you to choose to study yoga with Krishna in Ghana?
I did my level 1 training with Krishna while I was living in Ghana back in 2011. I knew very little about kundalini yoga at the time and went on a journey of immense growth. I jumped at the opportunity to go back to Ghana with Krishna for a L2 training in 2018 for Vitality and Stress. The energetic frequency in Ghana and the local sangat there are so uplifting and beautiful to be with that I couldn’t resist!
- What is a memorable thing that happened during that training?
One of the most memorable things about Ghana is the generosity of local people, their ability to share and give is so heartwarming.
One of the most memorable things about Krishna’s trainings is how she always bring out your best, you’ll be challenged, awakened, and moved. There may be tears, sweat and struggle but she energetically holds you during this experience so that you can reach higher physical, emotional, and spiritual levels, all while keeping the experience fun and putting a smile on your face 😊
- Did you have a favorite food you ate there?
Fried plantain and red red, this is a delicious vegetarian dish made with black eyed peas that’s full of local flavor and colour with a little bit of sweetness from the plantain! Yum!
- How did your spirit feel uplifted during and after your trip to Ghana?
Connecting with people from other cultures was very powerful energetically and spiritually, it helped to put situations in perspective and to know that we’re all so similar and yet all so different at the same time. Taking the training with students of kundalini yoga from around the world was a huge blessing and allows for a totally unique experience. Learning how people from around the world apply the teachings of Yogi Bhajan in different ways was inspiring and truly uplifting.
- How did being in Ghana resonate with your soul’s song?
Ghana has always felt like home, there’s something very special about the land, the people, and the culture. There’s a beauty in the way of life there. The hussle and bussle of North America or Europe doesn’t get in the way of what really matters and that’s a big breath of fresh air. This pace of life gives me the space and time to reflect on who I am, where I’m going and what is most important to me.
- Would you gift this training to a friend or loved one who loves a conscious adventure?
Absolutely, this is an experience of a lifetime!
