After Many Lifetimes voices the soul’s yearning for a place to call home. It gives voice to the feeling of being lost and finally finding one’s calling. The song begins on a street in Northern India when a call to prayer is sounded. Krishna Kaur evokes her roots in West African and American Soul and R&B and then the music surrounds her voice with elements hearkening to the music of the early 70’s, including analog synthesizers, and a saxophone ensemble. Dejah Gomez, a former cast member of The Lion King Musical, and a backup singer to Stevie Wonder make a special appearance on this track.
